Iceland's stunning landscapes, including glaciers, volcanoes, waterfalls, black sand beaches, and otherworldly landscapes, make it a dream destination for elopements.
One of the main reasons why couples choose to elope in Iceland is the opportunity to exchange vows in awe-inspiring and remote locations that are not typically found in traditional wedding venues.
One thing for sure - you'll be creating memories that will last a lifetime.
HOW TO REACH?
Some locations in the Dolomites are easily reachable by car. Others incorporate a hike.
Think about how much hiking you actually want to do (maximum length & elevation) and pick your location based on those parameters.
You don't want to do any (or much) hiking at all? That's absolutely fine. There are gorgeous locations out there for every couple.
Another option is to book a helicopter and fly exclusively to a spot that is unreachable by car or a more traditional hike. Specialized helicopter tour operators take you to the best spots!
PERMITS?
Unlike most US-national parks, no permits are required for a symbolic wedding ceremony or bringing a photographer to document your elopement in the Dolomites.
In oder to preserve the nature and eco system, always be considerate of nature and practice Leave no Trace Principles.
WHAT TIME OF THE YEAR?
Actually the Dolomites are a stunning location at any time of the year BUT it heavily depends on what you are expecting and looking for.
SPRING (May to mid/end of June) - nature starts blooming, not everything might be yet accessable
SUMMER (July to end of August) - everything is open & accessable but it's also the busiest time of the year
FALL (September to end of October) - amazing colors, less visitors, infrastructure starts shutting down
WINTER (November to mid of April) - perfect for skiing elopements, not everything is accessable
Mountain pass roads, mountain huts or gondolas are not accessible all year round. Colors and flora change, alpine lakes may look different throughout the year. Ski lifts / cable cars don’t operate and many hotels can be closed during off season.
